The Board of Directors of the Global Finance Association (GFA) QRAFT provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure that the Association fulfils its mission and operates in accordance with Australian law and international best practice.
The Board is responsible for:
• setting and reviewing the Association’s strategic goals and annual programmes;
• approving the budget and ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and compliance;
• supervising the implementation of decisions adopted by the International Council;
• overseeing the work of committees and internal policies on education, partnerships, and charitable operations;
• ensuring ethical conduct, risk management, and accountability across all activities;
• representing the Association in international cooperation and professional dialogue.
The Board acts collectively and independently in the best interests of the Association, maintaining a high standard of professionalism, transparency, and public trust.
THE International COUNCIL
The International Council of the Global Finance Association (GFA) QRAFT serves as the strategic and consultative body of the Association.
It unites leading representatives of actuarial, financial, academic, and regulatory institutions from different countries to guide global development priorities and ensure international collaboration.
The International Council is responsible for:
• approving the Association’s global development programme and annual budget;
• defining strategic priorities and international partnerships;
• overseeing the implementation of cross-border projects and educational initiatives;
• providing expert guidance on professional standards, risk management, and innovation in finance and insurance;
• promoting the integration of members and partners from diverse regions into a unified professional community.
Acting as a bridge between regions and disciplines, the International Council strengthens global cooperation and ensures that GFA QRAFT’s mission — advancing education, research, and responsible finance — is implemented worldwide.
THE COUNCIL of Patrons
The Council of Patrons of the Global Finance Association (GFA) QRAFT brings together distinguished academics, business leaders, regulators, and public figures who share the Association’s values and mission.
Acting as a strategic advisory and representative body, the Council of Patrons provides guidance on the Association’s long-term development and supports initiatives that promote education, research, and responsible finance across regions.
The Council of Patrons:
• advises the International Council and the Board of Directors on strategic priorities and emerging trends in finance, actuarial science, and technology;
• fosters partnerships with universities, professional associations, and government institutions;
• supports the development of educational and social-impact programmes;
